Cigarette smokers do not meet our needs for health or wellness. We will not accept anyone who has to meet their needs in that fashion.
To get an idea of who lives here, check out the applications of current members.
To apply you will need to fill out this application.
Once we accept you, then the landlord will require you to apply with them. Their fee is $50 non-refundable.
House Meeting Protocol:
- each person reads one definition from Pathways to Liberation until we complete it.
- We each read through the list of needs and for any needs that are not met we use the formula: Because my need for X is not met, I feel (negative feeling). If need X is not met because of another person, then we guess at their feelings and needs and then work on a strategy to meet the needs of both parties.
- If decisions need to be made, then they are raised and resolved using “The N-Street Davis Cohousing Method“.
House Rules
- Do not use the kitchen sink for anything but kitchen items (e.g. dont clean mold from your window sill and then walk to the kitchen and clean out the brush in the kitchen sink: use the bathroom sink for that).
- If you have a conflict with party-A use non-violent communication directly with that person. If you cannot work directly with party-A, then work with party-A and another neutral party. Only in rare circumstances should you discuss your problems without party-A being present. with.
